Hey Folks,
I want to report in on Jim Pitman's Winder for keyed pedal steels. Got mine in and absolutely love it. This thing is durable not like the plastic ones you can buy. Every time I used the plastic ones over time they broke.

With Jim's winder, you won't ever have to worry about it coming apart. This winder is built like a Mac Truck and I can promise you it is the last one I will ever have to buy.

The craftsmanship is Exceptional. Works like it is suppose to.

I have used several different ones and I can tell you this is the best one I have ever used.

Fantastic job Jim, keep up the good work.

Guys, tell your wife this would be a great stocking stuffier.

Dan

Well thanks Dan!
Glad you like it.
Bob, I posted this a couple months ago but didn't promote it much as I was gearing up.
The winders are made from brass, delrin, and steel, in the good ole USA (by me).
There are two sizes, small and large. The small has an opening width of 0.75" and the large, 1.0"
I walked around the PSG convention in Norwalk Connecticut and tried them on many guitars. The samll fit nine out of ten guitars. Theses were the modern types with the smaller key. The large fit the older guitars like the Emmons butterfly, etc.
Picture: The large is on the left. I've removed the handle on the small version on the right to illustrate the steel axel. It is firmly mounted to the brass base with a 10-32 screw. The round delrin tubular handle has a clearance hole such that it rotates on the steel axle. This minimizes wear and pretty much makes the winder indistructable.
PM me if you are interested.

Ditto on what Dan said. I've never seen one that comes anywhere close to Jim's craftsmanship. The best thing is that it WORKS and will for a very very long time. Thanks Jim for your design and craftsmanship..........clark

I plan to order one to fit my push pull. Anything Jim does he does impeccably. From pickups to custom amps to this sweet little winder. Get one before Jim redirects his attention to another project folks. This will be the best and last string winder you will ever buy.

Stu, I watch Alaska State Troopers regularly on TV and I have to say you must have lots of courage living where you do. Do you own a pair of snowshoes? Laughing

BTW, I'm an outdoors type of guy and I'd love to visit Alaska one day (especially in the fall).
