Today I'm thankful to each and every person who helped us create this loving tribute entitled The Big E: A Salute to Steel Guitarist Buddy Emmons. You know who you are. Without you this record could not have happened. Thank you for donating your talent, your time, your hard work and passion to help us put this recording into Buddy's hands before he left us.

I'm happy to report that the project finally went into the black in September. From now on, ALL sales profits will go directly to the Country Music Hall of Fame in the name of Peggy and Buddy Emmons. Please tell everyone you know about the record. Every sale now counts for a good cause that Buddy proudly requested. Please consider it as a Christmas gift to your friends and family.

Thank you everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Steve Fishell

Two weeks ago we presented the first royalty check in the name of Peggy and Buddy Emmons to Jay Orr and Lisa Purcell with the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Steve...thanks for sharing this wonderful news! Hats off to you for your hard work in organizing this tribute. I'm so happy that Buddy was able to see and hear the final product... and also feel some of the love and respect that so many of us hold for him. Way to go my friend!!

Thanks everyone. The album is available only at iTunes or Amazon plus a very few select retail outlets around the world. I'm unable to monitor the retail outlets, so for best results please use Amazon or iTunes.

That is great to hear, Steve. It was so good to see Buddy "rear his head" on the Big Salute.

Steve,

What you did for Buddy by making this event happen was awesome. The CD is a must-have. I'm sharing Joachim's amazon link with my better half... it's that time of year. Nice to see that it will help something that was important to the Big E.

Maybe I should know this, but why does the guitar in the rear cover photo look as though it's on life support, neck brace and all?

That's an Emmons String Machine, consisting of three individual pickups. He modified it so that he could move each pickup over any three strings to duplicate the string section effect that three separate steel players used to do on the Opry.

Wonderful news! I may be ever so slightly biased, but I think it's a great CD that should be in every steel players collection.

I second every good comment and raise ya'll 50+ this is IMO the best psg album I ever owned/heard . I checked out a couple mp3's (they are always sonically crap so I ordered a cd so I can rip it to .FLAC or OGG-Vorbis format. The sound difference is huge. Thanks Fish, I love this collection..Stormy Mr. Green
