Ricky ..(Very roughly) .. I got my S-12 Sho-Bud in London in 1977. Wide pedals, tear drop levers, and just a double raise and single lower. I remember you once saying they were a good changer. That was the Sho-Bud that was burned in a house fire and rebuilt. Still plays really well....roughly year of manufacture? cheers.

Thanks Ricky....In 1977 it was one of the first 'Buds to hit these shores. Every one till then, me included had a ZB.
I had the pleasure of meeting Shot at a gig over here...was the very early 70's...I had a cheap U.K. made steel called a Denley....he came over in the break and strummed it accoustically, and said in his Tennessee accent "You can't play Country on that Boy??" I had an A6th tuning...I never knew E'9th existed

You're fantastic! What would the parts cost to add 4 levers? |

I think around 600. Check with www.psgparts.com _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Hi Ricky, I pretty much know when my guitar was built but I wonder why the serial number doesn't seem to fit into the pattern. I received my Professional in April 1971, the serial number was 8106. Sho Bud sent me their catalog and I chose the wood, pedals etc and they came back and said "Well, we have this Professional, would you be interested in that?" So I think it was right on the line between Sho Bud doing custom orders and offering standard models. That guitar was 8&2, I added the F lever later. Sweet axe, sorry I don't have it now. |

Allan,
I wonder whether, being such a low number in the 8000s, it was related to the mystical 7000s which were special orders and such and unconnected to any specific time frame. |
