I don't have my c6 here today to try, can a C6 (CEGACE) set be tuned to open D? (DADF#AD)? (without changing strings...)
My strings are 10, 14, 18 , 24, 26, 34....
Thanks in advance |

Not without it sounding like crap. The bottom 3 strings would undergo a huge amount of de-tuning and would most likely be very "flabby".
C6 covers 1 1/3 octaves where D covers 2 full octaves. The low D is typically around gauge 56 or so. |

Another way is to tune open D down to G6 - same intervals as C6. _________________ Steel Guitar Books! Website: www.volkmediabooks.com |
