I'm sorry. Dumb as dirt, too, but I'm REALLY sorry. That's not a "Special," is it? |

In Martin lore, style-18 denotes mahogany for the back-and-sides, 21 and above denotes rosewood. Conventionally 21s have a rosewood fingerboard whereas 28s (and above) have ebony.
This (extremely pretty) guitar should have a rosewood f'board but this one looks fairly dark. If it's ebony it's an oddity (a nice oddity, mind you!) _________________ Roger Rettig: Emmons D10, B-bender Teles and Martins - and, at last, a Gibson Super 400!

Thanks Roger for your input. I am also dumber than dirt. I bought the guitar from Sweetwater I am sure they can answer any question we may have. If I can help just let me know |

The OM-21 is a stellar machine. I have a 2013 model. Martin redesigned the OM-21 in 2012 by adding open gear tuners, an ebony fretboard and bridge, as well as a modified low oval profile neck with the PA (performing artist) taper - very easy-playing neck, IMO. A very versatile guitar. |
