I think the photo speaks for itself. I believe I got the guitar with the original strings. This had 5 pedals, two leavers. Dana Flood modernized it to 3 pedals, 5 leavers. (They are polished too!) I will have to take offers on this one, as I don't have much to compare to. This could easily fit into a collection. I have other pics and can answer questions. This guitar has not been played by myself (had to try it) and I would suspect by no one. It is what you see.

Very nice lacquer cut tail. Bet it sounds as good as it looks.

Is this an old guitar or a reissue?

Gary's reissue has LeGrande style pedals, and I suspect spacing. The other guitar looks to me like it might be the real thing.

Used to be 5 pedals and 2 knee levers ...
May have started out as a C 6 steel

I will load another couple of pics. I can't get them to upload at present. Curious to hear comment on the serial number. Will try later for a rear shot, and a closer front shot. Who ever gets this will likely feel like me ... scared to touch it! It should be in a collection.

RE: Your serial number: according to my random list of S-10 p/p's that would be between 1977 and 1979. As others have said, the style of the pedals is correct for 1970s.

Is this Emmons for sale or are you just teasing us Emmons Fanatics? You do have it in the Steel for sale post.

Post  Posted 13 Nov 2015 12:40 pm     The guitar is for sale

Yes the guitar is for sale. I live where I have remote access to the Internet making loading photos difficult on rainy days. I'm at the office now where I can get a good connection.

I haven't placed a price on it because I had no idea of its present worth. If I price it someone will likely take exception. I have too much money into this one I think, $2500 for the guitar and $1500 for the upgrades. I never planned to sell it, but now have grown so used to a double neck that I don't care for the single neck even though that is what I learned on. I have several Emmons guitars. I am an Emmons nut too. This is my only laqour guitar, I won't get another. I'm too scared to damage them.

I would like to sell this to another Emmons guy, not a seller or someone wanting to learn. I think this is a rather rare piece and needs a proper home ... money talks, but I would take less for the right home.

Is that a crack on the top/end? Does it go completely through the body?

Doug we are not supposed to undermine an item for sale if that's what the seller feels, BUT the photo tells all,,and,,I really don't care about the crack. I've seen vintage archtop guitars with wide open back seam that would blow away 99% of the intact guitars in the world! It's what it is. a buyer in the south will complain about it swelling and rusting..

I understand. I was not trying to undermine the sale. Just asking about the crack shown in the picture and wondering how deep it goes.
