Please educate me: what makes this a "California Series"? What are the differences between this and other series? |

The CA series was a joint effort between Corona, CA plant and the Ensenada MX plant. The guitar body and necks were made in Corona CA, then shipped down to Ensenada for finishing, then returned to CA for final assembly. This saved Fender $$ so they could sell them cheaper. Unfortunately for Fender, the guitars were too much of a success and started taking market share away from the more expensive "all US" guitars so they discontinued them after a couple of years.
Nice looking guitar |
