Does anyone know who played the steel on Jack Greene's recording of "The Hardest Easy Thing?" This was on the flip side of "There Goes My Everything" when it came out on a 45 r.p.m. Have always loved the steel on the intro and turnaround on this song. |

I'm guessing Ron Elliott, Ron played for Jack and Jeannie Seely, but don't know if He played on their recordings or not. _________________ Mullen G2 SD10 3 & 5 The Eagle

I would say either Pete Drake or Buddy Charleton. It's a great record. |

My money is on Pete Drake. Pete and Jack worked together in Atlanta before either one went to Nashville. Pete played on many of Jack's post-Troubadour hits.

It would be nice to see a tab on that intro. I have tried for years to figure it out but I have a mind block for some reason. |

Jack Green also recorded "I love you because" on another lp. Beautiful steel on the whole lp. Alwas wondered who played steel. Anyone know? My guess is Elliott or Day. |

That lp is full of great steel guitar playing and is at thetop of my all time favorites. Ron Elliott has always been a very tasteful player like Buddy. |

I've always loved Ron's playing. His harmonics give me goosebumps and makes me start shaking. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) .
