I'm teaching steel lessons via Skype to a new student in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There are some mechanical issues with her JCM steel (a brand I'd never heard of) that I can't properly diagnose much less remedy over the internet. Anyone know of any steel techs near Milwaukee who could help her out? Or even experienced players with some tech know-how?
The basic issue we've so far uncovered is the E's returning flat when lowered with the E lever, and returning sharp when raised by the F lever.
There may be other things we haven't discovered yet. The steel could probably use a good going over and lubricating.
Please email me with any contacts and referrals you may have.
Thanks so much!

I'd give it a spritz of Triflow or the DuPont equivalent. It sounds like the two scissors have excess friction. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
