Hey gang I need some good solid advice on sanding and polishing my pedal bar on my ole sho-bud. I thought maybe I could take the scratches out with a non aggressive rubbing compound but the scratches are pretty deep and since I have no experience in refinishing aluminum I stopped and started this thread. I catch on really quick and want to do it myself because I want the satisfaction of something I have done myself and I dont have funds to pay someone. Thanks Slim _________________ S12 MSA Classic Nashville 400 with fox mods amp 1 volume pedal 1 Lil Izzy and 3 cords |

I would use a good 6" electric buffer with buffing compound. _________________ aka "Lucky Kay"--Custom built Rittenberry SD10 3X5, Walker S/S, NV-112, and Hilton Pedal |

Good luck with your project. There can be a lot of satisfaction in maintaining and fixing up your own instruments and other equipment.

You can sand with some 180 paper and maybe some 220 then buff with a good buffing compound the red rouge or the green will do it for you , there is really no need to use finer sanding than 220 , some will tell you that you must use something like 400 or 600 grit sanding but its really not the case .. |
