I'm considering it.
What's it like?
Do you get an opportunity to jam with others or is it continuous famous fabulous players performing? |

Jim, it's very late in the game as far as "considering it" unless quite a number of people drop out at the last minute, the folks on the wait list are now in - and there happens to be room for one or two more. Not good odds at this late date.
Earlier in the year when the announcement comes out to get your name on the list it sells out almost immediately, like in less than a half hour. I've only been able to go once (2010) but I have been on the list of accepted attendees and had to drop out a few other times, then someone on the wait list would take my spot.
There is a whole bunch of stuff that goes on during the conference (including opportunities to jam with other attendees) and rather than try to regurgitate it all here, check out the website below which is pretty thorough:

Tx Mark, wow sells out. On the contrary the numbers for the PSG shows have been continuously dwindling.
You'd think Resosummit would just get a larger venue. |

I'll be there, and looking forward to seeing everybody again.
Jim it's not the size of the venue that is the issue. It is not at all like any of the steel guitar shows. Resosummitt consists of an intense series of workshops taught by some of the very most respected players and teachers around, as well as staff concerts, evening concerts at the Station Inn, great space for jamming at all hours, and other things. But it is all based around intense instruction in limited-size classes that are designed to suit different levels of players. It is an amazing experience, and although I think most attendees are exhausted at the end of each day it is a great hang with interesting and fun people. My sense is that through the process Mark described most people who want to attend are able to get in. Highly recommended for dobro players at all levels who want to push themselves to another level. |
