Spent a delightful Thursday morning last week in Hagerstown, MD, rural home of Beard, Inc. Brought along my boutique reso (not a Beard, starts with R, built in Terrace, British Columbia) and had it treated to a setup and a Fishman Nashville pickup.

First, the guitar: sounds like I always thought it should, but it never did. Unbelievable improvement in acoustic tone and volume. Definitely does not seem like the same guitar.

Second, the experience: welcomed like a non-annoying neighbor. Given the run of the shop, all the in-stock guitars were hung on the wall for me to play at my liberty. And they're a pretty impressive bunch of toys. After winning the lottery, I'll be springing for a maple E model or a Jerry Douglas Blackbeard. Or both.

Anyway, if you need an overhaul on a reso, or need a new one, or are driving by, I heartily recommend a trip there. Tell Denny I sent you.

And don't believe your GPS.

I've been to the Beard shop a couple times with the same reception. Great bunch of folks! It was a great experience to play everything in the shop before picking out my favorite to take home.

I giggled when I read that. After all these years some GPS's still can't figure out Leitersburg Pike!

Well, you got there..eventually! Very Happy

Thanks Kevin,

The "Howard Era" officially ended a couple of years ago although I still manage to keep my finger in the pie occasionally. Smile
