i saw a guitar just like this recently (for a lower price) on a sale listing since I'm perpetually checking out resonators for sale - it was characterized as a 1974.

I must confess I've never heard of a "Bruce Bowden" model from the OMI Dobro era.

Damir, are sure this is a 1970? That was the first year the Dopyeras regained the use of the name Dobro after several years of ownership by Mosrite.

I'm the previous owner of that Dobro and it is most definetly a vintage instrument. I was a vintage instrument salesman in Dallas, Tx. for 30 years. The serial# indicates 70's and as Damir said the lacquer is checked like an old Gibson and yellowed. It's tone is also unsurpassed as Damir stated.
The name was professionally engraved by a previous owner. That is not a model number. Thanks!

this plate can be replaced with another one, if that engraving really bothers somebody... but I will tell you the truth, I don't really care if this sells or not, I don't mind keeping it for myself... this is THE nicest sounding resonator I ever had... there is two guitars that I am selling right now, that I would not mind keeping it, at all, this Dobro and Gibson AJ acoustic ... these are two absolutely gorgeous, and beautiful sounding instruments...

btw David, I am getting ready to ship your guitars out this week, so make some room at the house lol...

don't have a sound clip, but it sounds great to me... I owned few Asian resonators, and this one is nothing like those... this guitar has a beautiful, rich and mellow tone ... not harsh or annoyingly bright and scratchy like Asian ones...
