Just a quick question. Where can I get leg bumpers/feet for my Emmons and to keep a small supply on hand? I figure I need about 4 sets or so.

Thanks.

Home Depot/Lowe's sells crutch-tip rubbers. They'll be white instead of black, but they work well.

They also sell them in black. Stephen is right, they're crutch tips.

Several steel guitar builders, vendors have these.
F.I. Williams Guitar Co. and Show Pro both show them on their sites.....if you want to keep it in the steel guitar family.

If you stick a dime in the bottom of each rubber foot they will last a lot longer. The diameter of the dime is slightly wider than the average steel guitar leg and sits perfectly flat and snug in the rubber foot. Another trick is to put a small metal or rubber washer on the leg between the foot and pedalbar. It does a good job of preventing the top of the rubber foot from being torn up.

I use these:

http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/walgreens-large-quad-cane-tips-5/8-inch-diameter/ID=prod6178857-produc

They have a great "grip" to them, and have a metal reinforcer inside to keep the legs from cutting through.

Sorry to butt in here Tommy, your link didn't work but thanks for the heads up. Didn't know about these. Looks like they're temp. out of stock online, but I'll check out the local inventory. Looks like just what the Doctor ordered.

Sorry for the bad link y'all. I fixed it.

My son works at a Walgreens in San Antonio. They stock them there. Let me know if you can't find them locally.

I was cruising the isles of Ace hardware here in Anchorage, and they had a large selection of crutch tips in both black, and white.

I saw them at Walmart today. $1.98 for a two pack. I also checked them out at Walgreens, same brand, just made a little different. $6.29 for a 4 pack. Both had steel inserts in the bottom. I have also bought them at ACE Hardware over the years. 5/8" black crutch tips. Smaller, more like originals but no steel insert.

Both the Walmart and Walgreen one's flare out quite a bit at the bottom to make them more slip resistant for crutches. I am going to pass on them and stick with the type that came on my steel. From ACE or Home Depot. Will add a washer or a dime, as suggested, for the metal insert.

The Home Depot ones are rounded on the bottom, more to my liking.

There's no question about it, the black ones sound better!

Craig, I am going to put this black sounds better to rest once and for all. I am going to spray paint the black one's white, then see if there is any difference. If so, then black is better. If not, then black is no better than any other color.
