Can someone tell me what the smaller switch down by the 1/4" output is for? I know the large one switches between necks but can't figure out what the little switch does?
Thanks

99% likely that is a pickup coil tap.

Assuming that it is still wired (pickup replacement sometimes happens, with a non-tapped pickup), yes, same idea.

It doesn't seem to change anything when I switch it. Oh well, still sounds good.

Coil tap, most certainly. Many of the Sho Buds in the early to mid 70's had them on both pups. It kinda took the full range and made it LESS FULL range. My first PRO III had them, I never used the tap position, eventually I installed single coil (no tap) pups from Sho Bud and removed the switches. It is very common to see that era Sho Bud changer end plates with two small holes these days.

I like the way Jerry Wallace does it now (get well soon, Jerry). Modern heavy wound pickup with a tap at old-fashioned honky-tonk twang like 11 or 12K.
I usually prefer the lighter wind.

I had a Sho-Bud Professional with the coil tap switch which made a big difference to the sound, so maybe yours is disconnected or the switch is defective or something. If you like the thinner, twangier sound it would be worth getting it looked at.

Full coil-Nashville sound
Tapped coil-West Coastish sound.
See it it's wired in.
How many wires coming out of the pickup?

Most likely that switch bypasses the tone control. That's the way it was on the Super Pro I used to have.

That's probably it Bob. I didn't notice the tone control when I glanced at the pic.

yeah.. i assumed it's a tone control bypass switch.

Good call, Bob. Trent--does the tone control work? If so, turn it full 'bass' (treble cut) and see if the switch throws it back to full spectrum.

It's a tone control switch with the pot. I have a Super Pro I got from Forumite a few years ago, that came with it damaged. apparently the previous owner did not know what to do with, it came with switch broken and dangling from wires and the pot had wires cut off. So, I just cut the rest of wires off, removed pot and plugged the holes with black plastic hole plugs from auto parts store. I did not need it.

Thanx,
Jim
