I get the same thing when I turn the reverb up past 4. Havent figured it out yet but I assume there is something going on right in the reverb pan. Try moving the pan as far away from the speaker as possible and check the connections. |

Check the connections to the pan. Sometimes the pan can have too many grounds... see if pulling one out halfway fixes your problem. A normal reverb pan connection has the ground broken at one end in order to avoid a 'loop'. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |

are you saying they're designed wrong?
haven't there been many with no problem? |

Of course... but if the ground is broken at both ends... or somehow was made at both ends... I'd expect hum. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |

I bought a 112 new from Bobbe Seymour and it had the same problem. Could not turn the reverb up past 4 without a hum. I called Peavey and they said ot take it to my local Peavey dealer. The dealer placed it up on the counter immediately and removed the chassis. The reverb connections inside the amp had come from the factory reversed. He just unplugged the connections and switched them. Problem solved.
This may not be applicable to your amp because it has been working fine before.IMHO,you should consider an outboard reverb unit. I don't care for the amp reverb anyway. I got a Wet Reverb pedal and have never looked back.

Even though I'm not using a 112 at the present, I ran into the same problem with each one I had, which was five, I think. I repositioned the reverb pans and luckily each one was ok, afterwards. My main amp is a NV-400 w/15" NEO speaker. |

I have two NV112's one bought new, one used and they both hum like a mf when the reverb is turned past 4. They are useless for recording or a quiet venue. Once I was essentially banned from playing at a gig because when miked, the hum went through the pa. I ended up playing direct which sucked.
These are good amps but there's obviously some design flaw with the reverb.
My advice: don't buy one. _________________ Sierra S10 (three!), Peavey 112 and 115, Benoit dobro, Beard Model E dobro, Beard Roadophonic, MSA Superslide, Dean Nickless custom dobro |

Check with Mike at Peavey, I believe some of them got out of the factory with the reverb wired backwards, if my memory serves me well. |

If that is indeed the problem I will reverse them and report back. _________________ Sierra S10 (three!), Peavey 112 and 115, Benoit dobro, Beard Model E dobro, Beard Roadophonic, MSA Superslide, Dean Nickless custom dobro |
