Topic: Sho Bud Super Pro setup question |

Recently purchased a Sho Bud Super Pro. After looking at the setup it seems as though the knee levers are set up different than most of the diagrams I have seen?
Is this normal and can it be changed?
Here is how it is currently set up:
LKL - raises strings 4 & 8 on the E9 neck (which I think is standard)
LKV - drops the 6 string on E9
LKR - raises 1 & 7 on the E9 neck ( but having trouble getting the 1 string up to G#
RKR - raises the 4 string on C6 neck
RKL - lowers high C on C6 neck and lowers 4 & 8 strings on E9 neck
Pedals seem to be set up fine.
Any suggestions or insight in to this??

Sounds a lot like my Super Pro except RKR on mine also lowers the E9 second string a whole step(with a fairly long throw so you can lower it a half-step by ear).Somebody told me that's the "Sho-Bud" knee lever setup |

The first string raise was originally a half step, so difficulty in the whole step raise isn't surprising.
You have a fairly typical setup, although the 2nd string drop is missing, but you don't have an E9th change on RKL.
Were it my guitar, I'd move things around so that the E lowers weren't on the same knee as the 6th string drop and 2nd string drop. But that's a matter of taste.

| Thanks guys, after further examination, there is a 6th lever that is a RKR clear over by the changer (I had missed this one before) It appears to drop strings 2 & 9, with the 2nd string set up to do the half stop I believe. I'm new to the instrument obviously, just want to make sure it's set up right when I try to start to learn to play. |

Again, it looks perfectly normal.
While I would change things around if it were mine, I don't believe in changing things until you conclude that what you have ain't working and why.

Maybe lengthening the knee lever travel on the lever that takes string 1 to G will give enough travel to get to G#.

| My '75 12 string Pro 1 with Super Pro changer could not raise 1 a whole step. The wood cutout in the cabinet limited the finger. I removed some wood and it now can raise the whole step. |

| Thanks for the posts, I'm going to just tune it up and start trying to learn the way it is setup, I believe I have all the necessary levers (just maybe in a different position than some of the newer setups) that I need. In your guys opinion what are the "must have" levers?? |

Keep an eye on the forum.
Jim Palenscar sells new Goodrich pedals.
Not too many used seats out there, but there are three damn good seat makers: Steelseats, Steelers Choice and one other I can't recall.
