Chris was a founding member, singer and songwriter for The Steel Drivers. One of the finest singer writers around.... _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

Letterman to Robby T: "That's tremendous. That's fantastic. That's like flying a helicopter, isn't it? Whoa buddy!" |

Letterman also told Paul Scaffer " We gotta get one of these"...
Of course then he retired...😩
Letterman had some really good musical guests over the years. _________________ Kevin Raymer

One thing is for sure, Stapleton has very good taste when it comes to steel players. |

Wasn't sure who played steel either, but just the fact that it's featured prominently speaks volumes!
Ive just started covering "If It Hadn't Been For Love" by Steel Drivers. Love that tune. Great name for a band too huh?
Stapleton's voice is the best out there IMO, and his hit songwriting skills aint a secret. The new solo debut is amazing, and long overdue! Several slow traditional waltzes take me right back to where country music should be.
Between him, J. Johnson and a few others theres still hope yet for a traditional country music comeback. ![Very Happy](images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif) |
