What gauge of wire do I use to add length to my pickup leads?
It appears the current pickup lead is a single coaxial type of cord/cable made up of a red, black and bare-mesh wire.

They're usually wound with #42, and connected to something larger. I wouldn't worry about what kind, just use individual wires and be careful not to break the wires.
