Hello-
I am looking for someone to teach via Skype. Here is my background.
I am a college educated musician and educator. I played jazz, shows,etc... for many years (saxophone, flute, clarinet). I can read notation and lead sheets. I can also improvise over jazz standards - on my saxophone and flute.
About 1 year ago, the hubby bought me an E9 pedal steel, made by Jefferson County Music. So far, I have been able to figure enough out on my own to actually play in a small combo, but increasing my skill is becoming difficult on my own.
We do not have many pedal steel players in Milwaukee.
I have done some lesson packages via DVD, but am at a point where some personal interaction would be valuable. I have questions about the neck, and how to move around fluidly. I would also like help applying patterns and licks to songs.
I learn quickly, and am a teachable sort, as I have spent a career in education at all levels.
Thank you all for any consideration.

Hi Lynn,
I take Skype lessons with John McClung. He has had a huge impact on my playing. He has a thorough curriculum and is flexible to individual needs. You can find him here on the forum or at http://steelguitarlessons.com
Good luck and have fun!

Another vote for Professor Twang (John McClung).
He's a great teacher, he's got the Skype thing figured out, and he's a real nice guy. _________________ "I make dozens of dollars a year playing music." |
