I got some good stuff from Herby Wallace also. Before you order anything from anybody, you need to decide if you want a D or a G for the top string. |

not being a musical genius, i got the most usable stuff out of jeff newmans early stuff with hold it, the preacher and others. and then with buddy's blues to use booklet. |

Russell, all of the courses mentioned above are excellent. I particularly found Herby Wallace's courses (HWP 200 & HWP 201), Buddy Emmons BASIC C6 great for a a solid understanding of C6. Jeff newsman's course C6 & SWINGIN' is also good but more costly.
Herby's courses have a G on the first string but I use a D there and found it to be no problem working around that.
Once a person has the basics down and if he or she likes Jazz and Standards, I'd add some Jim Loessberg's Jazz series courses. These are individual courses for songs and come with CDs and tab. They are dynamite.
Also, there is a lot of valuable information Forum members have put up at no cost. Check out Greg Cutshaw's site (which may only be up until Jan 2016) and this one from Ernie Renn that has Buddy Emmons instruction. These are just a couple of example.
