I was fortunate enough to attend an ACL taping at Austin City Limits yesterday evening featuring Don Henley, with Milo Deering holding down pedal steel, dobro, lap, and acoustic guitar.
Great show, Milo of course nailed it, and the new Henley record (Cass County) is definitely a bit more toward the country side. I believe Milo is touring with Henley throughout this fall, promoting the new record. Great show if you get a chance to catch it.
BTW, Henley had several 'guests' on stage throughout the evening. These were folks he collaborated with on his new album; Jamie Johnson, Trisha Yearwood, Marty Maguire and Emily Robison (2/3 of the Dixie Chicks), Martina McBride. A couple of the songs can be heard here:

Milo played a Carter D-10 through what looked like an old Session 400, it was great tone. _________________ Lost Pines Studio

It is great to see Milo touring and playing gigs with people the caliber of Don Henley. Milo is indeed a gifted and multi talented musician. _________________ Mark T

A lot of heavy hitters on the album. Do you know when this will air on ACL? |

For the record, Milo advises he uses a Quilter Steelaire for the Carter and a Session 400 for his dobro. Both sounded great.. _________________ Lost Pines Studio

Of the two songs featured in the Billboard article, I particularly liked Take a Picture of This.
But I'm an easy mark for a lot of tunes containing that chord progression. _________________ Mark |
