Bob....the guitar you have is indeed one of the oldest MSA "production" guitars. The guitars we made just a few before your's were different, and not specifically designed for high production.
Records show it to be a black and white double 12 which left the factory with 10 pedals and 6 knee levers, which is one of the most pedal/knee levers we installed on an older MSA.
It was originally shipped to a retail store called Jones Music, location unknown.
No production date was entered, but I would guess it was made in late 1973.

Bob, are you sure it's not SN 2C0113?
Reece, late 73? (The reason I ask is that by mid '73, the "2C" SN's were well over 1000.)
Just curious, 'ya know! |

From Bob's other post describing this guitar, I think Maurice meant to say 1963 instead of 1973. I had a white tidewood '72 or '73 D-12 with round cross shafts and four hole pullers. |

Well, if it is, in fact, the old style with SN 200113, then I'd guess it to be late '69.
'Course, that's just an educated guess. |

I assumed the second zero was actually the letter "C" because at times they are hard to read, and relatively few guitars had two zeros after the first number.
I mistakenly assumed Bob had misread the serial number and it was actually 2C-0113. Sorry for my mistake and any confusion.
After an extensive search I located serial number 200113. It was originally shipped to a man named Tim Sampson. Records show it to be a double 12 which left the factory with 10 pedals and 2 knee levers. It was born on April 17th 1970.
Jim, Al and Donny, thank you guys for bringing it to my attention. I was really just checking to see if you were paying attention. |
