As some one brought his name up it brought back a memory that about drove me nuts. Around 1970 or so LLoyd came out with an instrumental called here comes the circus. It had a fast and tricky riff. As I had grown up on fiddle and western swing that riff really grabbed me. I bought the album to learn it and almost gave up. When I finally figured out the circus riff it was all done in one fret except one note had to be flatted with the bar.
Back to the fiddle. Just kidding but I sure liked that tune. BTW. Maybe LLoyd had done it a different way but as most tunes could be done in different positions and still get the same notes.
I sometimes really miss playing but music changed so much and I got old.LOL Tracy |
