I am a big fan of the old country-rock stuff, like the New Riders of the Purple Sage, Gram Parsons,Poco, PPL, etc. I have always liked the Bakersfield-Austin sound more than the Nashville sound, and here is a great example of the Austin sound at its finest. Love the steel, especially the tone. Not sure who the player is, but from the tone, I'm gonna guess & say he was playing a PP through a Twin Reverb. But I could be wrong.

Nunn recorded this song on his 1994 lp Roadtrip. He used John Hughey on steel on that album. _________________ Rebel |

He released another cd in 1996 called "Under My Hat" using the Forum's own Ricky Davis on steel.
One song in particular on that cd is entitled "Something Monumental." Ricky does a real nice intro and break on this song. _________________ Rebel |
