Buddy was gracious enough give me a lesson every few months. This is one of the many clips I took not very long ago. I know you will enjoy it.

Sid, that is fantastic! Cool

I'm not sure where I came up with the idea, but I was sort of under the impression that once Buddy retired from playing as a career that he had for the most part put down the bar and picks, let alone give lessons.

That is true. Buddy retired in 2007.

As far as the lessons, we have been friends for 33 years so it was a friendship thing.

Great right up to the end indeed! That was terrific, Sid! Just about all you need to know about playing the blues in C. This is something I will study. There arn't that many close up shots of Buddy playing extended solos. It's great to hear that Buddy also "hums" when he was into an improv. Just like Errol Garner, or Keith Jarrett. I know I subconsciously do that sometimes. If you have any more of these, can you please post? Thanks!

So this is the guy that gave up playing and put his bar down. He plays more than 10 steelers on his worst day. Is there a worst day for the Big E, not in my book.

Thanks for the video, Sid. That is very uplifting, and it's a great chance to hear Buddy's vocalizations as he's playing.

Thanks Sid, enjoyed that.
Is this the last video we'll see of Buddy playing?

Whatever, it's a great swan song.

Thanks Sid. I never had the opportunity to see Buddy play in person. This video is a good look at how great a player Buddy is.

A few years ago I had the pleasure of working on the steel in that video, "The Blade". Bobby Bowman and I went over to Buddy's house and I wired up the pickups they had put in the night before. It was a treat sit on the sofa in that room afterwards and watch Buddy play.

Thanks again, Sid for posting the video from Buddy's music room! Awesome!!

Everyone is very welcome! I thought it would be something of interest to everyone.

I still get tickled every time I see him bear down on something.
