Jacob had the chance to play for a sunday night music special at church a couple weeks ago. Here he played steel, mom played piano, and I sang the song. His intro stops at 1:25 so most of you will want to stop there, then I sing a bit and he comes back in at the end. A big thank you to Mike McGee for showing him this.

Absolutely wonderful. Be sure and tell Jacob he's doing a great job. And I didn't stop at 1:25 so I got to hear some good singing too.  Thanks for sharing.

| Thanks to all. Yes, he takes a monthly lesson from Mike McGee. We take an Ipad and record a few songs/intros, then he can pull it up and work on it anytime.Jacob has been limited with baseball and showing livestock, but still finds time to practice several times most days. |

Great job , Jacob . A very talented family ! That Zum really has a nice tone. Is that a Lil Izzy you are using ? I use one on my Emmons and really like the tone it has.

Jason and Jacob, that was impressive all the way around. It reminds me of that song "Daddy Sang Bass", the more joyful sentiments, the good times we remember later on.
It's great to see Jacob progressing so well. He's got some real talent there. |

Tony, yes thats an Izzy.
Jacob has been playing the thunder out of his new Zum D-10, and is working on panhandle rag on the back neck. He is close to having it down. I'll post it next.

I've had a few people send me PM's wanting to know what Jacobs's rig was on this song. He was playing a 93-Zum SD-10, 4x5, with a little Izzy, and a Nashville 400 amp with an upgraded reverb tank that Tommy White suggested on an old thread. Its a very nice guitar and does sound great. I will add that his 2015 Zum D-10 sounds just as good, so 22 years apart,and If I couldn't see them I wouldn't know which one he was playing. I have since replaced the factory Black Widow with a Telonics 15. I think it sounds as good or better,and is lighter for sure.
