Hey Folks,
I can't seem to reach Ken Champion via his website. If anyone can message me a way to contact him I'd appreciate it.

Also, if anyone has any leads on other instructors in Chicago I'd appreciate it. I'm in the city proper and there doesn't seem to be much PSG here.

I don't know if I can afford long term lessons right now, but I can at least afford a couple months of lessons to get some foundational techniques.

Thanks,
Karl

Karl, I have 2 phone numbers for Ken but don't want to post them on the Internet. Send me an email from the forum and I'll send you back my personal info so we can get you the phone numbers that I have. Ken and I used to play in a band together back in the day. I haven't contacted him in a few years but he doesn't move much and we also have mutual friends so I know I can put you in touch with him one way or another. He specializes in coming to your place for lessons.

Karl, Brian Wilkie plays at a bar called the Empty Bottle every Friday for Happy Hour with a band called the Hoyle Brothers. I think they start around 5pm. Go check him out and see if he's interested in teaching at this time, he's a great player and you'll dig the band. Here's the address...

I'd second Bob's Brian Wilkie recommendation. I took lessons from him when I first started and he was great. You should definitely go hear him with the Hoyle Brothers, regardless of who you go with for lessons, they're a really good band.

Karl, I don't know what part of town you're in, but I'm subbing with a band for a while and we are doing Saturday's at Coles (on Milwaukee Ave) from 6-8, if you ever feel like stopping by to say hello....
