Though reading any obituaries about Buddy would be totally uninspiring or illuminating to any but total strangers, I'm irritated that the obit in the Tennessean is totally made un-accessible by an onslaught of unsolicited ads. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

So far (late 8/2), I've seen July 28, July 29 and now (NY Times) July 21 reported as the date of death. _________________ "Gopher, Everett?" |

Indeed, Herb. My ad blocking software registered 53 ads blocked on that page. It begs the question, "How much is enough?" |

I guess it depends on one's internet browser? I use Apple Safari, and there were only a couple ads displayed on the right side of the page when I was reading the obit in the Tennessean, which by the way, the writer did a pretty good job in the space allotted.
I clicked on the "Reader View" icon in my browser bar, and there were zero ads, and larger print. Worked great. _________________ Mark |

Mark, I use Safari as well but probably a much older version, if that matters. AdBlock showed 53 ads blocked on the obit page, go figure. 'Reader' shows text only which is the way to go whenever possible. Maybe our ISP's have something to do with it.. |

Do yourself a favor and download a free program called Ghostery https://www.ghostery.com/en/ and it will block all those ads and tracking programs. It works very well with any browser and really has no downside. It will create a list of harmful and annoying programs that you can block(or not)and shows you any new ones it comes across so you can block them too. You just check off the boxes to block each one. It has made my internet experience way more enjoyable than it used to be. |

To me a obituary is a brief history and the names of his family. |

Here's the whole thing, amended...
Buddy Gene Emmons passed away on July 21, 2015 of an apparent heart attack. He was 78.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy. He is survived by three children, Buddie Gene II, Larry and Tami. Two granddaughters Crystal and Brittany, and two grandsons, Levon and Buddie III.
No funeral or memorial is planned. He'll be cremated and his ashes will be will be strewn where Peggy's ashes are, thus reuniting them for eternity.
Jan 27, 1937 - Jul 21, 2015
Rest in peace, Maestro... _________________ My best,
