I have a Magnatone triple neck steel. Since it has been years since I actually operated the instrument, I need some help with the neck switches.
I have uploaded the photo of my instruments switches. I need to know the exact function of each. I am aware that they change the sounds between the necks, but it would be helpful to know more about them.
I am having a hum problem with the top neck, and have sent the pickup to Jason Lollar to see if he can duplicate it.
I would appreciate all the help I can get.

Firstly what type of switches are they? Do they click into different positions - if so how many - or do they turn like volume/tone knobs?
Secondly, a hum problem could easily be due to the wiring and/or earthing rather than the pickups themselves. Does the hum change or go away if you touch the strings or metal parts? Was the wiring checked before you sent the pickups off?
Love to see some pics of the whole guitar. |

Both of the 2 switches have three positions, bottom, middle and top. I don't hear much of a "click" but they are definitely not like the tone and volume knobs.
My husband checked all the wiring, and the grounds and bonds.
We have isolated the top neck as the problem, that's why we send it to Jason. |
