My heart is sad in hearing the news of Buddy Emmons passing. I feel so fortunate to have met him. I attended the Nashville Steel show on 9/13/2013. A gentlemen started to talking to me, and mentioned that Buddy Emmmons was in the other room. I was astounded to know he was there. He graciously took me over and we sat around the table visiting for a while. I was just thrilled to be sitting next to one of the greatest steel players in the world. I will attach the photo with Buddy taken that night. A photo I will cherish.

Rest In Sweet Peace Buddy!

With all due respect, Rhonda, you were sitting next to THE greatest steel player in the world. (And anyone else who even comes to mind would say the same thing.)

I posted a tribute to Mr. Buddy Emmons,in another thread, but I just wanted to repeat, how one night, 20 years ago, Buddy made The Everly Brothers show,in the U.K. so special, with his masterful playing. Buddy did so much for the PSG,both mechanically & musically. He has left us so much of himself, to enjoy.
RIP
John Russell (UK)

Rhonda, that is so nice.

Buddy was outstanding in so many ways. To see this example of his humility is awesome.

Thank you Rhonda for the picture of Buddy. I will never forget him. Our first meeting was in 1995 at Scotty's convention in St Louis and we had a really nice visit. The Big "E" was enormous:(

Ernie Renn has posted elsewhere that it was an 'apparent heart-attack'. He also said that Buddy died on July 21st, not the 28/29th.

Great picture Rhonda, I was playing steel for a band at KIRX Kirksville, Mo. in the mid 50's. About the time Buddy was getting his start. He was a teen then but very good. I got to meet him many times through the years, it was always a thrill.
