If you're lucky enough to have held a Sobell before, you know how wonderful a treat it is to play this guitar. Stefan Sobell's discerning eye has rendered this 2012 slope shoulder Dreadnought in gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood and European Spruce, which combine to produce some of the sweetest overtones and bell-like notes you'll ever play. The glossy finish (by David Wilson) provides a smooth feel along the vintage profile Wenge neck and showcases the rippling figure in the three-piece Brazilian Rosewood back. Played in dropped tunings (using silky-smooth ebony Gotoh 510 tuners), the low-end vibrates through the entire instrument, in excellent proportion to the middle and upper registers, to yield a lush, articulate tone. While delicate and incredibly responsive to a Fingerstylist's touch, this Sobell can fill a room by itself when flatpicked--other guitars will struggle to compete.
