Hey Paddy,

What kind of MCI do you have? I love hearing about other MCI guitars! Is it bolted or welded frame?

and Jeff-- is that Bill Simmons' old EMCI? I hear it's a beaut!

Maybe we should post pics and start one of those I Love my MCI threads... hmm..

yes Burton that is Bills guitar, it is in great shape, Ive only played it one weekend but everyone in my band said they noticed a difference they were really on my for selling my push pull I went to it from another top brand and they were all knoced out but everyone even people out front said this was cleaner and cut through better but still didnt sound harsh it has a e66 which I was thinking about tring a trutone or emmons single coil but now Im not so sure I may just stick with the e66

I have an old wood neck waco MCI, I like it a good bit, it's the broke country cousin of an EMCI by any account.

Good guitars from what I've heard from lots of folks... mine is partly rebuilt with available undercarriage parts (new knee levers and bellcranks) and I've got no complaints whatsoever.

For what you get, they are one of the best bangs for the buck you can find... congrats on finding yer one true love

Hi Burton - mine is a MCI Rangexpander D10, welded frame, open ended key heads, Ali necks - it originally had Barcus Berry pickups when I got it from the factory. Black Aprons, Dark grey (Black Pearl) top deck. Fabulous guitar 9+9 - and the GL pickups have really made it even better. I just got a new Zum 9+9 but the MCI is not for sale.

Jeff,
I have an early '80's Waco model MCI also. Mine is a black D10, 8&4 and has BL 705's on both necks.
