If aliens built PSGs.....or a bad acid trip??

Looks like a prop from a 50s Sci-fi movie "E9 From Outer Space" maybe?

I'll take it! Smile

Here's what the builder said, that I wouldn't wonder if there's been something similar (and perhaps obvious to someone):

PS7: "I don't know if anyone has ever done it this way or not? Just something I came up with. It works, is simple, and seems rock solid, stays in tune. I did something similar on my last guitar, except I used cables.

Not shown in the diagram, is the way I manage to have two strings pull different travel lengths. Two rods from the tuner fingers connect to a single lateral rod, which has a center rod from it, and it allows for varying travel lengths."

Thanks, Rich! this is rich.

That's one way to do it. One could also put the pivot on the deck, mounted horizontally, with the bellcrank offset a bit

Not that I know of. It's common for modification.
Pull-release guitars BUILT to raise and lower usually mount the cross-shafts in the middle, like your reverser.
Lowers go along the deck and raises farther away, like a push-pull.

If you look on my Perm thread, there's a picture of the slick way Sho-Bud had of tuning the intermediate note of strings that raise and lower.
