If you as long in the tooth as your's truly you can remember the Ozark Jubilee show starring Red Foley.
This program originated out of Springfield, Missouri and his steel player was Bud Isaacs. The pedal steel was just in its infancy and I was curious about it.
I wrote Red Foley a letter and here is his response.
Other than misspelling my first name, it is a treasured letter.

That's pretty cool, Erv!

Grove City, eh? Guess it must be true when they say you can take the Meeker County out of the boy, but you can't take the boy out of Meeker County.

Thanks, guys
Yes, I treausre that letter. It goes all the way back to 1955. Whoa!
In 1955 I was playing with a polka band that had a 15 minute radio program, Saturday mornings, on a station in Hutchinson, MN (KDUZ).
Jack,
You must be up in Stearns County, right?

That's a good guess, Erv, and you were very close. I'm in Wright County, a little outside of Annandale.

That's the other Lake Woebegon (and I always thought it was in Morrison County!)

Hi Irv! Your letter is a real keepsake.
Here's a link to that early Isaacs "sound".
