We want to correct the imbalance we've noticed regarding pictures of
steel guitars on the internet. Government statistics show that pictures of
pedal steels outnumber non-pedals by a wide margin. We would like to
address this imbalance and increase the diversity of steel guitar photos.
If you have a non-pedal steel guitar, send us a picture for inclusion in our
Photo Album at www.mightyfinemusic.com . We want to gather the biggest
collection of pictures of non-pedal steels anywhere. Won't you help us?

Thanks

Ricky, are you only interested in electric instruments? How about Dobros, Weisenborns etc.

Hey Bill we would be honored to have "Any" Hawaiian steel(Dobro is really a hawaiian steel before electronics) on the site.
So "Any" non-pedal played with bar instrument being electric or not> is a steel guitar to us.
Thanks my friend> send um over. But you can put all your different steels up on your name/page. So the varitation(types) in your instruments is welcome and showing them "all" off is what we would love to do.
Oh and it's "ON THE HOUSE" of course> this is done for the Love of the instrument and not for the profit.

How much disk space do you have?
You can take any of the photos I have up already here:
http://www.well.com/~wellvis/steels
I haven't had time to organize the rest of my collection, and I'm out of room on my server.

Ricky, pictures are on their way to Stephen.

Patrick, what scoundrel sold you that pathetic looking Stringmaster? BTW, it's a '54 I believe...not that I would know about it or anything.

Hey Brad; I have seen all those on your page many times> Awesome.
Are they all yours???
I believe Stephen would know more about the disk space availiable.
We do want to make it a personal thing; like the steels you have that you are most fond of and proudest of to show off. Or any combination of that.
We want what you have Brad> your personal favorite(s); so we can put your name there and folks can see Brad's steel(s) that he loves to pick and show off.
Thanks guys and keep um coming.

Ricky and Steve, thanks much for posting my guitar. I really liked seeing what everyone is playing.
Loved the "Log guitar" You gotta play "Crosscut Saw" on it....."well I'm a cross cut saw, baby drag me across your log"

We're happy to post your pictures. Crosscut Saw? That's one tune I'm not familiar with. Do you know of any recordings?

If you want to hear the definitive version of Crosscut Saw, check out Albert King's "King of the Blues Guitar" CD or the old "Born Under A Bad Sign" LP.

These are classic recordings. Albert King is probably the most influential electric blues guitarist. His signature bends can be heard in guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn (who sounds like a cross between Hendrix and Albert King to me!), Mike Bloomfield and so many more.

Plus, his voice is as great as his guitar playing.

Ricky, I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to computer stuff. Do I need a digital camera or would a scanned copy of a photo work okay?

He was a shady character, allright, but he had a remarkable collection of cocktail shakers, so he can't be ALL bad!

BTW, I heard the SpeedDevils playing live on WMBR the other day. Rockin'!

(Oh, and I double checked, the date is 4-57)

Hey everyone; the site and photo album is looking Awesome and there are tons of picks up there now and keep'um coming.
This is turning into my favorite site and I can't get enough of looking at all those "GREAT" steel guitars. It just puts a huge smile on my face to see that and I hope it does the same for you and others.
