Bruce Zumsteg asked me to share this with the Forum. Some of you may have seen this at the TSGA show last March, and for those that didn't, enjoy!

Here are the details from Bruce.

“I carved this figure and made the model steel guitar in honor of the man who had a major impact on my life, as he has on so many others. I doubt that I would be doing what I have done for the last 40 years had it not been for the tremendous influence of Buddy Emmons.
Some facts about the project:
• The figure is carved from basswood (linden wood) and painted with thinned acrylic artists paints.
• The guitar body was made from a piece of rosewood, and all of the hardware was machined from aluminum, except for the strings and pedal rods, which are stainless steel.
• The fretboards were taken from a picture on-line, reduced to my scale, and printed on photo paper.
• The model is 1/6 scale, making the guitar about 5 ½ inches long.
• The majority of the project was done in the mid ‘80’s. Then I got so busy that I had to quit woodcarving. I finally got back to it and completed the project about a year and a half ago.
For the most part I’m happy with the way it turned out, and I wanted to share the pictures with my fellow steel guitar friends. I hope you enjoy looking at them. And sorry, no it’s not for sale; and due to the amount of time it took to complete this one, I won’t be making another one. Thanks for looking.”
Bruce Zumsteg

Bruce, while the carving is undoubtedly pretty cool and one of kind, many of us are quite pleased you went in another direction and built more of those Zumsteels. Thx, stevet

It's amazing how many people are "MULTI-talented",,,that we don't even know about (i.e. this additional talent that Bruce has),,,another example is Billy Robinson,,,,,who else???? I seem to recall something about certain brain waves relate to artistic abilities,,etc,,,????

Bruce..
That is incredible!! I got to see it in Dallas last March, but I am also proud to call Bruce friend and been the recipient of a special carved figure that I display proudly in my living room.
