Very nice. Yes, I would be interested in knowing your 12 string tuning as well. I'm guessing it's the Maurice Anderson tuning , eh? I noticed the one time you did a forward slant, you did it the way I am now forced to do them because of my hand problems. Are you ok? Why don't you use the recommended method?

My tuning is a modified A6th
Hi to low:
F# D A# G E C# A F# E C# B G#

The D, A# & G strings are re-entrant (lower in pitch than the "E")

Notes:
Strings 5 thru 10 are the standard A6th tuning
strings 1 to 3 form an Augmented 5th chord
Strings 3 to 6 form a diminished 7th chord
Strings 11 & 12 offer many cool low pitched options, like altered bass, and a Major 6 add 9 (5 frets lower)

By skipping adjacent strings some super cool jazzy chords are possible.
Dom

Also that is the only way I know how to slant... is really there a "proper" method? To me the only good slant is one that is in tune.

Dom

Slants are supposed to be done with the fingers. The wrist is supposed to remain straight. The idea, if I remember right, was not so much one of maximizing proper intonation as avoiding repetitive use injuries. But as few slants as you are using....and me too these days, it's not an issue. But i found the finger method much easier as well. My fingers just won't do it any more.

Slants are just mechanics.
If I can learn them, anybody can.

On the other hand, I'd be glad to adopt an 'improper' slant technique, a speech impediment, and a limp - if it meant I could play like you do, Dom.

I don't care too much about playing solos, but I'd love to backup the singer like you do.
