Wanted to hear how the front pickup sounded by itself, so when I changed my strings a couple of days ago I physically swapped positions of the two pickups.
So now I can get front PU only, and the blend control adds the rear PU.
Easy to do, no soldering required as there was plenty of slack in the wire.

OK, how did it sound? It should have changed the blend sound too... the bridge p/u is wound hotter to try and balance them. I've often thought of doing this, and would love your opinion, or a sound clip. _________________ New FB Page: Lap Steel Licks And Stuff: https://www.facebook.com/groups/195394851800329 |

Well it sounds good, a richer sound as you would expect. Haven't played a steel gig in a couple of years, so I don't have an opportunity to try it live. The nice thing is it was so easy and non invasive to do. Sorry but I don't have the capability to post an audio sample. |

Exchange phone numbers off line & play a tune over your telephone. It may not be the best sound, but better than nothing.
