Does anyone know what is happening with this seller of tone bars?...I ordered and payed for a standard bar April 3rd...had a couple of emails indicating that I should have had other emails explaining the problem...one email suggested that my tone bar was in line for production... ...Your order has had its first firing and is waiting to go in my next kiln load (a couple of days from now) for its second and final firing. ...May 25th...

No response to my further inquiries.
Still no bar as of June 24...

Sometimes it takes a while... I've had orders in for six months before. He eventually gets them out.

Over the past few years, Jay has had some lengthy health issues that have kept him away from his kilns for chunks of time. Invariably, he does post on here when he returns to work.

...sorry, but I can't give him a pass on this. I regret hearing that he has health issues - on the other hand, the ethical thing to do would be to indicate on his web site that his production would be curtailed due to inability to work at his business - rather than take orders and money through his web site knowing that delivery would be badly delayed.

Communications from him to me have been evasive - suggesting a month ago that the bar I ordered would be soon 'in the kiln' and shipped in a few days - smoke and mirrors - delivery never happened...

My own personal opinion as a guitar slide / tone-bar maker and seller is that it's bad business practice for any company to take money from customers until you have the product ready to ship ~ we never, ever take up-front payment for any of our products until it's completed and sitting on our office desk, ready to go ~ only then will we request payment for the item.

Slide On,

Ian.

I have done business with him before. He is a bit slow but I feel he is an honest business person.
