Group,

I finally got around to replacing the pots in my '51 Deluxe 8. The new ones are quiet as a mouse and the audio taper on the tone pot gives me a nice boo-wah. Problem is these pots have a much stiffer action than the originals. That knurled Fender knob is about to take the skin off of my pinky !!! Is there any way to loosen these things ??

A drop of light lubricating oil on the shaft
should do the trick.
Use only one drop because if you get too much, it will contaminate the resistance element.
Work the shaft back an forth, then wipe of any excess.

Blake,

That worked. Back to practicing.
