I had the great pleasure of catching Bobby Ingano as the featured guest on George Kahumoku's show at Napili Kai, Maui, Wednesday night. Bobby's playing was absolutely delightful. What a touch! He was playing his '52 Ric and sounded out of this world.
Can't say enough about how nice he was,too.... My wife and I enjoyed chatting with him for a bit after his set. What a super nice guy.
Thanks for the wonderful evening, Bobby!

Aloha Matt,
You are 1000% correct. Bobby has been a family friend for many many years and he is the ultimate in
steel playing. I have never heard as much love in steel that he puts into it. I urge you to see and listen to him every chance you get. I am so glad you got to see and meet him.

Bobby and I go back over 20 years when he was a young and wonderful bashful guy whom I met at the Golf Club and asked to play the Sunday Ho'laul'ea in Kapiolani Park which my (late) wife Mary and I were organizing.
He was a gem in those days, always with that BIG smile, and
as far as my humble opinion is concerned, Bobby is the only steel guitarist in Hawai'i who plays that nahi-nahi Hawaiian touch and tone. Luv ya Bobby !!!! |
