Does anyone have any information on the Promat range of steel guitars.Where are they made, and the cost of these instruments. Obviously they are designed for the "Push-Pull Emmons Fans" Im sure some-one out there knows something about these guitars.

Now don't quote me on this but I would venture to say that you will probably be contacted by Damir. I heard a rumor that he has actually seen one.
Seriously Damir has one and from his post, he is very happy with it.
Also, from previous post, Bobbe Seymour is in the loop somewhere.
You can do a search under Promat and find it all

..here's a link to the page with all of the topics including the word "Promat"..
http://steelguitarforum.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi

...well, the link doesn't work for some reason, but just go to search and type in "promat" in the pedal steel section...there's a dozen or so topics including pictures of Damir's axe..

Are you guys trying to tell me something?
Is there something secretive about this make of steel guitar? All I was looking for was a little info on Promat.

Ted, Damir speaks highly of the Promat, as do several more that have played one. I know Damir says they sound better than a pp. just do a search on Promat and you should find all you want to know about them.

Terry thank you for your help and info.I would like to say something to everyone.I don`t sell Promat nor I get any kick back or money to do so.I like my guitar and that is what is important to me.I only wanted to let you guys know that it is possible to get a brand new push pull guitar if you want one.Promat as any other push pull is far from perfect. It`s mechanics and weight are the bigest problem but as a trade of you get a great tone.I spent last nite and this morning trying to tune my E knee lever and couldn`t do it, but the only reason is ,that I`m not good at this as Mike Cass or Bobbe are.If someone is looking for a light guitar with a simple all pull mechanics or guitar he can change set up in minutes Promat is definetly NOT for him.I ,in the other hand, want to hear the TONE behind me when I play and I will carry havy guitar and put up with set up nitemare to get that.Bottom line is,Promat is not for everyone. Is it boring?I don`t think so,at least not to me.

Just to give you an idea: here are the approximate prices provided by Mr. Papic himself (these include case and shipping to Switzerland):
D10 8+4 aluminum neck: 3000 Euro
SD10 3+4 aluminum neck: 2100 Euro

Jody I`m not sure I understand what is that you are talking about.Promat guitar can be delivered with Sho~Bud fret board or Marlen fret board ar anything anyone wants to have on it.Changes are made from the angles of the strings and materials to the machanism itself. It is a PROMAT regardless what anyone says.It is a push pull guitar and so are few others,so what?Maybe Shot`s family should sue every steel guitar maker today who bilds all pull guitars, why not?It is the same logic. However,I`m tired of this and going to bed now.Ciao.

come on Howard, give Damir a break. He said in his earlier post that he had been up all night and morning tuning the "E" lever

Damir
My comment was not intended as sarcastic. I only commented because the ProMax looks exactly like an Emmons.

I respect you for your knowledge and would never offend you in any way..sorry if I didnt make my stupid comment clear...friends?

Hope so

That price is as delivered, within europe. The direct exchange rate is 1.227 $/Euro, so the guitar just on exchange rate would be $3,682. That is without any duties assessed either by the EU, or the US for Import/Export.

Damir might know what the prices are. I think he mentioned that Bobbe would rep for Mr. Papic here in the states for orders on Promats. Is that still the case?
