Topic: Fair Price for Coop Sho-Bud Parts |

I recently bought a very nice Sho-Bud Pro II Custom and it came with some Coop parts to rebuild the changer. I am going to keep the steel as it is so I have no need for the parts.
Just curious what a fair asking price would be for these parts?

Never saw Coops "super fingers' in that clear detail.. They are magnificent looking parts, and I can see why his stuff was so hyped here several years ago.. Just a shame it didn't turn out well for some guys after he started getting sick.. Is anyone making that type of precision finger for Buds these days??.. It might be overkill for the average player, but man they DO look good!.... bob

| Sounds about right.... and a bargain at that. I have a single 10 `Bud with those fingers, and it plays like a modern guitar..... still sounds and looks like a Sho~Bud. |

I have inherited all the components for the super fingers as well as other ideas from the John Coop estate. We are not offering them to the public as of yet due to my issues with cancer. But yes we will be able to provide them in the future.

Is this a blonde D-10 with Super Pro parts underneath? Coop accepted a D-12 Marlen that needed lots of parts for those fingers. I got them because I was going to replace the pot metal Sho-Bud fingers so in twenty years I would have a Sho-Bud with a mint changer. Also, I could not load the bottom seeing on the C6 with the pot metal V string ball holder. I valued the changer fingers at $300.

| I was sent finger guides like you have shown when I was looking for guides for my Super Pro. These were probably meant for a Pro 2 or a Pro 3. They will not fit a Super Pro as they are much to wide at the mounting side. I took them to a machine shop and was told they could be cut to fit in but the 2 end spring mounting holes would be lost when the sides were cut. Drilling 2 additional holes would have made both of the outside return springs grossly out of the proper alignment. Just wanted to say that these angled finger guides will not work on a Super Pro. I am still trying to find two of the proper guides if anyone has them, and would like swap even up for these. Best Regards. |
