Hi Everyone:
Just wanted to give you all a heads up that Buck Reid is touring with Kevin So promoting Kevin's new "Countryside" CD and will be playing at the Club Passim, 47 Palmer St, Cambridge, MA. Countryside is a great CD from this singer/songwriter extraordinaire with Buck's great E9 and C6 steel playing heard on near every track. I just bought 4 tickets, in hopes that my wife and possibly a couple local Vermont friends will make the trip down with me this Sunday night. Tickets are reasonably priced and can be bought on-line for an all inclusive price of $18.65.
There is a good chance that I will not be able to find local friends to take all the extra tickets I bought, so if there are any New England steel players that want to join me, let me know and I may have a ticket or two still available at the table I reserved. It is a small venue with great sound, so support our hardworking friends when on tour and try to make their shows. They are traveling the country and will be playing in NJ on the 12th and traveling up to MA thereafter, then onto NYC on the 16th. Here is a link to the Kevin So / Buck Reid Tour schedule: http://www.kevinso.com/On_Tour.htm
Hope to see you all there. To contact me, call my home number at 802-229-9870 or my cell at 802-498-5661. Psyched! _________________ John Brabant

There are some You Tube clips of these two performing together. Buck plays very sympathetically with Kevin (as you would expect), and shows that the steel guitar can easily perform the only lead instrument function if it is played by someone who has the taste and expertise that Buck possesses. _________________ Show Pro D10 - amber (8+6), MSA D10 Legend XL Signature - redburst (9+6), Sho-Bud Pro 111 Custom (8+6), Emmons black Push-Pull D10 (8+5), Zum D10 (8x8), Hudson pedal resonator. Last show of tour is tonite. Any steel player in the NY metro area who doesn't go will have missed the opportunity of a lifetime. Need I say more? _________________ John Brabant

Yes John, my bad...
I lived in Cambridge during the 70's and saw all the great folk and blues acts there while it was the Club 47.
Even had the honor of playing there once in the late 90's with a contemporary folk band.
Does Buck still play with Lyle Lovett anymore? _________________ Sierra S10 (three!), Peavey 112 and 115, Benoit dobro, Beard Model E dobro, Beard Roadophonic, MSA Superslide, Dean Nickless custom dobro |

Hi Tony:
Yes, Buck is still playing with Lyle Lovett's Large Band, which is about to hit the road very shortly, with Buck Reid in tow, starting July 10th in Vancouver, BC. He will be playing in Lowell & Hyannis MA and later in Bridgeport, CT. It's my understanding that there quite possibly will be additional shows added to the tour schedule which can be found at lylelovett.com
Hope you can make one of those shows Tony. It won't be as up close and intimate as the Kevin So shows with Buck, but that band of genius musicians never disappoints. _________________ John Brabant
