His songs were popular on the radio in the mid-70's when I was a young lad.

Jim and Helen Cornelius made a great team together.

RIP - Jim will be missed...

Worked the old Ozark Jubilee back in the fifties with Jim Ed, Maxine, and Bonnie Brown. Their voices were as smooth as a minner's lip. RIP Jim Ed.

I remember my mother playing the album "Sweet Sounds by the Browns" back in the late 1950's. RIP Jim Ed Brown.

That is really sad news. He had such a smooth way of delivering a song plus he was a true gentleman.

RIP, Jim Ed and thanks for the great music.

Sad to hear this.
Yes, he was one of the GREAT ones.
I met him twice & both times he spoke with me like
he had known me all of his life - very personable!
He will be missed by many.
RIP Jim Ed

I had the honor of being in one of the front bands for one of his shows. I got the chance to sit and talk to him for a while and really enjoyed it. He certainly was a talented singer, and nice gentleman. Country Music has lost a giant STAR. Heaven has gained.

Jim Ed's funeral is Monday June 15th at the Ryman.

Here are the Brown's in 1959 on the Town Hall Party. It doesn't get any better than this:

Godspeed sir and thank you for making radio work all those years ago.

There's a village hidden deep in the valley
Among the pine trees half forlorn
And there on a sunny morning
Little Jimmy Brown was born...
