Does anyone currently make a replica of the early Bigsby 8 string pickups? Blade, or pole pieces.
If not, what pickup is available that comes close to the early Bigsby tonality?

Thank you. I have been in touch with Todd Clinesmith, and, though he is super helpful, he is not able to point me any closer to a Bigsbyish pickup available on the market today. He suggests a Charlie Christian type could be similar. The only repro CC pickup I've seen on the net is a very pricey one manufactured in the UK.
I have purchased a couple of 6 string Vintage Vibe "CC" pickups to use in a couple of the current run of lap steels I'm building.
Having once owned a 1937 Gibson ES-150 with the true CC, I am a devoted fan of that sound. The Vintage Vibe version, of course, is different. Currently, I see no one offering an 8 string Charlie Christian type pickup.

Whoa! That'd probably do it. Jason likes for that kind of stuff, I think.
