I am moving to South Carolina in July and have two Emmons Guitars that I have owned for quite a while.

One is a S-10 that was totally rebuilt by Tommy Cass and is mint condition and the other is an original SD-10 Loafer, both are Black. It's been quite a while since I played the S-10 and I never had the two set up side by side to hear which one has the better tone. Both have the original Emmons pickups however I don't know if they are wound the same. I may have to sell one to help with moving expenses but I hate to even think about letting either one go.
It took me a long time to find the SD-10 loafer but I really don't need to take two guitars with me on my move.
Just some opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks !

I would guess, guitars being equal, the loafer would sell first.

Sell the one you play the least. Either one should sell.

I think you answered your own question. Keep 'em both. Cased up, neither guitar will take up much space. You'll thank me later 😊

Hey John:
Sorry to hear you're leaving the area but if I could I'd move out too... probably to my roots out on the plains or to the west. Family is here though so... I am too.

Regarding the guitars, it would be nice to keep both but if I had to choose just one I would keep the "Loafer" as I'm a D-10 player and the larger body would be more comfortable for me. I can't really compare not playing a single but I always thought the extra body mass could add to the tonal qualities as well.

Stay well and best of luck to you.

Thanks guys !
I really appreciate your thoughts ! I will most likely keep both especially the Loafer since it took so long for one to show up for sale.

Hey Tiny, Nice to hear from you ! I finally got feed up with all the Snow and Cold Weather ! Got a great deal on a new home in Myrtle Beach and only five miles from the Ocean ! The taxes are only $850.00 a year vs the $9,200 I am paying here. People are so friendly and over 1,500 Restaurant's in the Myrtle Beach area. Too bad I don't like Seafood Sad
Let me know if your ever in the area !
Take Care !
John

Keep both!!! Just the money you save in taxes by living in SC over NY will more than offset your moving expenses in the first year.

You should set them up together and compare them before you decide.

Just give me which one you decide to get rid of. You can call it a late birthday present. Thank you! Very Happy
