I would replace the amp... Having owned one, they are no longer made for a reason.

Bob,
I had a Session 2000 with the same problem. After spending a lot of money I discovered it was only the connection on a George "L"
cable.Never had the problem after snipping off the end and re fitting it.Its worth checking.
Cheers,
Warren Johnston.

Start by plugging your guitar straight into the amp and see if you have the problem. add items 1 at a time and see if the problem appears. Try different cords. I wouldn't just get rid of the amp without really checking things out. There are thousands of NV1000's out there in use.

Edited to say that I did have a similar problem once (on stage of course), and it was my Hilton pedal. It fixed itself and has not faulted since.

Richard S. is correct, nothing wrong with a 1000, very many in use and preferred by some. The preamp board on the 1000 is zackly the same as the preamp board in the NV112. Again thousands in use.

What your describing could be caused by what has been mentioned by other posters. But, I had the same problem and it turned out to be the switching jacks used in the amp that had gotten moisture or dirt from not being used. Most do not get used much, if at all.

See my answer to this post: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=285110

Exercise the jacks, they are self cleaning. But, may in your case, require some kind of contact cleaner.

Again, it could be something else, just have to work through it...

Bob my older 1000 does the same thing its in the amp iam taking mine to have checked, you can actually bump the underside near the front area under the 1/4 in plug in and bring it to life and most times for awhile but eventually it gets worse.
