A friend of mine just dropped off an old Electro 6 string. It's on three wooden legs and is a cherry red in color. Does anyone have any information about this one?

Thank you.

My first steel guitar was a red Electro. They were made by Rickenbacker. Nice little guitar made of pine, I believe. It was sort of a student model.

Rickenbacker did make some higher quality steels with the Electro name on them in earlier years. The red ones were mostly made in the early 60's, I think.

Sounds like a Model 105 to me. Does it look like this?

Yes Brad, that is exactly what it looks like. Thank you.

It feels like one of the tuning gears are slipping and the vol/tone pots are a little scratchy but other than that it's like new, no marks or dings.
